1) Swival Board Layout:

The Swival board consists of three concentric circles described as:

                - an OUTER circle
                - a MIDDLE circle
                - an INNER circle

together with a fourth winning CENTER circle.

2) Swival Counters:

Two sets of counters are used, one being RED color and the other being BLACK color. Whichever Player chooses the RED counters must always play first! The Computer is always assigned the BLACK counters.

Example: In a game of 'Player vs Player':
The Player with the RED counters must always play first!
The Player with the BLACK counters then plays next etc..

Example: In a game of 'Player vs Computer':
The Player with the RED counters must always play first!
The Computer with the BLACK counters then plays next etc.

3) Swival Gameplay Options:

Each game of Swival can be played in one of four ways as follows:
                - RED Player vs Black Player
                - RED Player vs Black Computer (Easy)
                - RED Player vs Black Computer (Medium)
                - RED Player vs Black Computer (Hard)

Hence a Player who chooses to play against the Computer can choose between three different degrees of difficulty.

4) Swival Game Object:

The object of the game is for each Player (or the Computer), to be the first to obtain a straight LINE OF THREE counters:
                - one being placed in the OUTER circle
                - one being placed in the MIDDLE circle
                - one being placed in the INNER circle

thereby allowing a fourth WINNING counter to be placed on the center WINNING circle anytime during their next moves.

5) The Unique 'Swival' Move Option:

Swival also introduces a brand new concept that permits both Player or Computer to freely rotate the MIDDLE circle either:
                - one place to the LEFT (anti-clockwise)
                - one place to the RIGHT (clockwise)
but only immediately AFTER they have laid their next counter correctly on the board.

This new and unique option, thereby allows a complex re-arrangement of all the RED and BLACK counters played so far. Hence the final object of forming a winning LINE OF THREE counters, suddenly becomes a much more difficult task to achieve! You can watch a short demo of Swival game play including use of swivaling by clicking on the video opposite -->

6) The Swival Computer Brain:

In a game of 'Player vs Computer', the computer must take a little time to calculate and think out its best response to the game as played so far. If a Player is interested in what the computer's thinking is like, they can click on the DISPLAY BRAIN THINKING button at the bottom right which opens up a second new window as shown opposite -->

This window displays each of the planning and strategy steps that the computer goes through prior to determining its next move. It is possible that if a Player has a little knowledge as to how the Computer's BRAIN works, it might help that Player win more games.

Good luck and may the 'SWIVAL' be with you!
